Speed Unlimited ET Series Double-Header
Weekend Kick-Off Will Again Feature
the “Pick Royce’s Pocket Challenge”

January 26, 2010

The 2010 Speed Unlimited ET Series starts with a double-header day featuring a special event called the “Pick Royce’s Pocket Challenge.” This is your chance to pick Royce’s pocket and win a free car and driver pass valid until mid-season!

Here’s how it works! Simply enter and run both races on Saturday, April 3rd (points will be in effect both both for all classes). The four racers that are leading the points in Top ET, Modified ET, Motorcycle ET and Junior Dragster at the end of the day will qualify to run in the “Pick Royce’s Pocket Challenge” scheduled for the following weekend’s Speed Unlimited ET Series on Saturday, April 10th.

Just before first round of this crazy and off the wall competition, the four points leaders (one per class) will each be assigned a lane by “Big Deputy Royce.” The driver will choose a dial-in to display on their window, then take their chance to Pick Royce’s Pocket by making a solo pass in that lane to try and match the scoreboards. Big Deputy Royce is not requiring the drivers to match the thousandth – all they need to do is match the hundredth. He’s got the confidence that no one will be able to pick his pocket – worth a FREE car and driver pass for their class AT EVERY ET POINTS EVENT until the end of July 2010!

But Racers Beware… as Big Deputy Royce has a few tricks of his own up his sleeve. “No one’s gonna’ pick my pocket,” stated Big Deputy. “I’ll be on the PA, in the staging lanes, in the waterbox, wherever I need to be to taunt them all day long. I’ll be sure to find out which lane they prefer, then stick ‘em in the opposite lane! I’m gonna’ rattle their cage and laugh when they choke tryin’ to get in my pocket!”

So the challenge has now been officially declared to all racers! You need to be run both races on opening day and race your way to the top of the points list to seize your shot at making Big Deputy Royce...“Eat Crow!” Will he have to reach in his pocket and pay your entry fee until mid season – it’s all in your hands now... “Show “Em What You Got!”

Contest Rules

  • Big Deputy Royce will assign a lane for each qualified driver (driver is allowed to dial-in after their lane assignment).

  • The April 10th challenge will be run on the 1/4 mile in Top ET, Mod ET and Motorcycle ET. Junior Dragster will be run on the 1/8 mile.

  • Each of the four qualifiers will receive just one solo pass after their lane assignment - this is their one and only shot to try and win by matching the scoreboards - to the hundredth only!

  • The FREE Car & Driver pass is valid only for the winners class and only on ET points races until the end of July 2010.

  • If events are affected by weather, the qualifiers will be the points leaders at the end of the first two completed races; and the challenge will be during the very next Speed Unlimited ET series event.

  • In the event of a qualifying points tie, the tie breaker will go to the driver that had the closest to their dial-in pass in eliminations over the first two points races.
