As the
temperatures cool down with the Fall
weather, the action in the Speed
Unlimted ET Series will only get
hotter. With the conclusion of the
regular season at the Snap On Tools
Superchargers Showdown, the fields
of Top ET, Mod ET, Motorcycle and Jr
Dragster were set. With Top and Mod
both having separate 1/4 and 1/8
points series, the drivers in the
Top 10 qualified on each side. If a
driver qualified in both series, his
or her highest point total from one
series or the other would determine
their positioning for the 3 race
playoff series to determine the 2012
track champions.
Junior
Dragster actually saw 12 drivers
qualify as 3 drivers, Max Jackson,
Blair Buckler and Willy Hess Jr all
tied for the 10th and final spot.
Jimmie Miller with his win in
Motorcycle took over the points lead
from Jeff Sweeney, who has dominated
the class this year. The drivers who
qualified for the Dash will have
their points reset based upon where
they qualified and will compete in 3
races on October 6th and the final
Autofab Raider ET Challenge weekend
on October 13 and 14th to determine
who will be crowned the 2012 MIR
Speed Unlimited ET Series Champions.
We at
MIR wish all of our drivers the best
of luck at the upcoming 2012 IHRA
Division 1 Patriots Bracket Finals
at Richmond Dragway. We also would
like to wish Jake Milstead luck as
he will unfortunately miss the final
Raider weekend to compete for an
IHRA Quick Rod World Championship as
he qualified by winning Quick Rod at
the IHRA Sportsman Spectacular in
July.
