The Miller Family would like to welcome Gary Simons to the team as the new Operations Manager for Maryland International Raceway. Gary and his wife Juli are relocating from New York where he has been assisting with the operations of SHCRA and the ESTA Dragstrip plus he has spent some time behind the microphone as well.
Gary will be taking over the human resources department at Maryland International Raceway and will be doing the hiring, training, and scheduling for our track officials, security guards and announcers. Gary will also assist the Miller Family with running events and the daily operations of the business with VP Racing fuel orders, trophies, track supplies, event planning, along with various other responsibilities.
Gary Simons had this message for the MIR racers and fans, “I can’t thank the Miller family enough for bringing me in as the new Operations Manager at MIR. This has been a lifelong dream of mine. I look forward to meeting each and every driver along with getting to know the fans and sponsors, all while I continue to make sure that all the hard work that the Miller family has put into the track to get it where it is today is always my priority. I look forward to starting my new position along with the next chapter in my life, so I will see everyone in two weeks!”
MIR promoter Jason Miller stated, “I am very excited to have Gary Simons as a part of the awesome team we have built at MIR. My family and I put in a lot of long hard hours at MIR, and we will now be able to promote our great events even more and concentrate on growing the business even further now that we have Gary Simons as our new Operations Manager. We have been bogged down with the daily operations of the business for years, and have not been able to implement and execute other ideas that has been on our wish list. We are very happy that now we will be able to do just that, and make MIR even better for our racers, sponsors, and fans.”
Gary’s first day will be on August 26, 2014 so the Miller Family would like all of our racers, fans, and sponsors to give him a warm Southern Maryland welcome when you see him on race day!
