Maryland Int’l Raceway hosted two highly successful nights of PINKS episodes on Sunday and Monday, July 23-24, 2006. Thousands of spectators came out to Budds Creek to witness the four races which are scheduled to air sometime in October 2006. Even though hundreds of racers applied, only ten were chosen (eight racers are chosen for the episodes and two racers are used as alternates). With intense and dramatic negotiations, the two nights of filming proved to be exciting and unpredictable.
When asked about filming another set of episodes, PINKS Executive Producer and Director, Steve Pullin, couldn’t say enough great things about MIR. “We came here once before and it was a wonderful experience,” Pullin said. “We think that Royce Miller and his team are absolutely first class promoters, first class operators of these kinds of facilities. It’s one of the best facilities of its size we’ve ever been involved with. We love coming here.”
According to Pullin, Sunday and Monday were record-setting with the largest attendance over the two nights since PINKS filming began. The host of PINKS, Rich Christensen, signed autographs before and after episodes for hundreds of anxious fans. These episodes will close out season three of the increasingly popular reality show PINKS – check it out Wednesdays at 9:00 pm (EST), only on SPEED Channel.
